Content Creator & Storyteller

Northern Pasta Co.
Remote, London based
£30k+ depending on experience
Full time

A few years ago we set out to make the best pasta in the world. We discovered spelt, British farmers, regenerative farming and learnt the traditional, slow way of making pasta. What we created was pasta people started falling in love with, that elevated their dinners and brought them the joy and comfort that food should bring.

Northern Pasta Co. started on a farmers’ market stall. Here people stopped, chatted with us, came back, told their friends. That connection, that community, built on real conversations and genuine love for what we make, is at the heart of everything we do.

Why this role exists

We have a brilliant brand, a story worth telling and a community of people who genuinely love what we do. What we need now is someone bursting with energy to bring all of that to life in a way that is strategic, considered and full of personality.

This role is for someone who loves the idea of world building, who sees the bigger picture behind every caption and campaign, and who understands that the best communities are built with intention and warmth. Content is our most meaningful tool for growing that world and that’s what this role will own.

The opportunity here is a big one. How does Northern Pasta Co. show up as we scale rapidly: launching into major retail, growing our DTC channel and building a brand that people genuinely want to be part of. The right person will see that, grab it and adore telling the story along the way.

What you will do

Content Strategy

  • Work with our Head of Marketing to truly get under the skin of the brand, and come up with ideas to bring it to life across all content.
  • Own & lead the content plan for all digital channels, mapping out how they work together (Website, Klaviyo, Instagram & TikTok now, YouTube to follow). Work with the team to understand inputs from across the business & factor them in.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to bring campaigns & partnerships to life. Understand the context, listen to ideas from across the team as well as your own & find ways to bring the most creatively inspiring ones to fruition.

Content Creation

  • Produce & edit high quality phone stills & footage (a bonus would be having your own camera/videocamera).
  • Bring genuine curiosity and warmth to everything you create. Northern Pasta is a brand people fall in love with, and the content should feel exactly like that.
  • Shape existing team footage and clips into content worth stopping for, and capture your own day to day moments too.
  • Create your own food content, you don’t need to be a chef - but you need to love food, know how to make it look incredible, and have the confidence and consistency to shoot your own food content regularly.
  • Create Meta ad content at a regular cadence, with the same care as organic - work together with the team to understand & execute this.
  • Create content specifically for each platform, understand who you're talking to and why it matters. Our audiences on TikTok, Instagram & beyond are different people with different needs - you know the difference & balance accordingly.

Social Media Management

  • Manage posting on our social media accounts with genuine brand feeling - Instagram & TikTok for now.
  • Come up with strategies & execute them for new platforms - YouTube & beyond.
  • Grow and nurture the community on all platforms: respond to DMs and comments, engage, make people feel seen.
  • Stay across growth tools like ManyChat & bring ideas about how we use them.
  • Track organic performance and use it to keep improving. Feedback to insights to the rest of the team.

This role could be a great fit if you…

  • Think in brand worlds, not just individual briefs.
  • Are as happy & confident in front of the camera as you are behind it.
  • Consider yourself highly creative, are full of ideas and love bringing them to life.
  • Write with warmth & personality, in a way that sounds like a person, not a brand.
  • Hold the highest standards for yourself - this role is about evolving & leveling up our content, not just creating more volume of the same.
  • Are organised, independent and thrive with genuine ownership.
  • Are curious and excited to grow alongside a brand that is going places.
  • Love food and care deeply about what you are representing.

Essential skills

  • Excellent ability to shoot and edit phone footage and photography at pace - on Canva and CapCut (experience with Adobe is a bonus).
  • Experience running & growing social accounts for a brand (Instagram & TikTok required, YouTube is a bonus).
  • Understanding of paid digital advertising (especially Meta). Direct experience is a bonus.

A background in food, start-ups, FMCG or DTC brand marketing is a real bonus, but proven creative flair and passion matters most.

What success looks like

  • In your first month, you have really got to know the brand, reviewed our social accounts, mapped out the content plan & are successfully running the day to day on Instagram & TikTok.
  • In your first 3 months, the content plan is spot on, and the quality and calibre of content across all channels is renewed. You’re on the pulse of our stats, feeding back insights to the team & adapting & improving every day.
  • In your first 12 months, engagement is up across the board, our new followers are as engaged as our core, and Northern Pasta is a brand more people are talking about. You’ve launched YouTube and you’re creatively proud to showcase all of that content as your own.

How we work

  • Small, ambitious team with high trust and lots of autonomy
  • Friendly, open and collaborative, with a strong sense of shared purpose
  • We care deeply about quality, relationships and joy

The offer

  • £30k+ salary depending on experience, with scope for progression based on hitting targets.
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Full time, remote and flexible, with travel as required for content creation.
  • A rare chance to be part of a growing British food brand at a genuinely exciting moment.
  • A role with real creative freedom, strategic ownership and serious room to grow.
  • Pasta whenever you like!

Sales Lead

Northern Pasta Co.
UK based, national travel required
£70k depending on experience
Full time

We are at a pivotal moment

Waitrose is live and flying. The brand has real momentum and we are growing fast. Right now we are building our commercial engine. We are hiring two senior leaders, Marketing and Sales, who will sit right at the heart of that.

These are people our founders will need to lean on. So this role carries enormous independence and responsibility. You will be leading from the front, setting the agenda, owning the outcomes. But this is also a roll-your-sleeves-up, get-stuck-in, do-whatever-it-takes kind of place. We are a small team and everyone does the work, and we love it.

We are all driven, excited by what is possible and passionate about making it a reality. We are ambitious individuals and together we are unstoppable. This is a rare opportunity to be part of that, and to help transform a whole category.

We set out to make the best pasta in the world

Northern Pasta Co. started on a farmers’ market stall in the Lake District. We discovered spelt grain, British farmers, regenerative farming, and learnt the traditional slow way of making pasta. What we created was pasta people started falling in love with. Pasta that elevated their dinners and brought them the joy and comfort that food should bring.

We make small-batch, bronze-drawn pasta from British-grown spelt, farmed regeneratively by our partner farmers. We slow-dry everything the traditional way because it makes the pasta taste better. That is the whole philosophy, and it shows in every bite.

We are in Waitrose, we have a cookbook, and we have a community of people who talk about us like we are their favourite restaurant. The opportunity ahead of us is genuinely exciting, and it is all happening right now.

Why this role exists

Our commercial function is currently founder-led. That changes now. The person we hire will be the foundation of our commercial team. The first senior hire on the sales side, partnering directly with our founder and Head of Marketing from day one.

You will own major retail and wholesale accounts from the start, build deep knowledge quickly, and take on more as the team grows around you. The right person sees that trajectory clearly and wants to be the one who gets us there.

Who you are

You have been part of building something and you know what that feels like. You now want the opportunity to genuinely own something and have an impact on a fast growing business and a whole category that has been overlooked for years.
You recognise that a holistic approach is the best way forward, marketing and sales are the same team. You think creatively, often the easiest route isn’t the one we can take, but you always endeavor to find a way.

You are energised and ready to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in at a pivotal moment.

What you will do

Waitrose

  • Work closely with the founder on the Waitrose relationship, building the knowledge to own it
  • Track rate of sale weekly, identify weak spots and direct activity where it is needed most
  • Contribute to range reviews, commercial planning and promotional strategy
  • Be proactive, close to the data and quick to react

Future retail launches

  • Work alongside the founder to plan and deliver future retail launches
  • Build and execute a clear launch plan covering distribution, visibility and in-store activation
  • Establish early relationships with buying teams and set the tone for long-term partnership
  • Track early rate of sale closely and respond quickly to what the data tells you

Field sales and people

  • Manage our field sales person from day one. Set clear priorities, make sure their time in store is focused and effective
  • Be a clear, energising presence for the people around you
  • Take on more people leadership naturally as the commercial team grows

Wholesale, Ocado and foodservice

  • Own the Ocado relationship and build a clear growth plan
  • Develop wholesale and foodservice in a structured and profitable way, prioritising the right partners
  • Protect brand positioning across all channels. Not all distribution is good distribution

Commercial

  • Own revenue forecasting and pipeline visibility across all channels
  • Protect blended gross margin. Growth has to be commercially sound
  • Keep the team aligned and informed, always

What success looks like

  • Waitrose rate of sale at or above target and growing
  • Future retail launches secured and executed brilliantly, with strong distribution and early rate of sale
  • Sales and marketing working in lockstep, with activity that is coordinated, purposeful and effective
  • Ocado materially improved against its potential
  • Wholesale and foodservice contributing meaningfully and profitably
  • Field sales focused, motivated and delivering
  • Margin maintained or improved as the business scales
  • A clear commercial pipeline and a business that knows exactly where it is going

This role could be a great fit if you...

  • Have experience managing major retail accounts, ideally including grocery multiples
  • Are credible and confident in buyer meetings and know how to build long-term retail relationships
  • Are just as comfortable walking a shop floor as you are in a boardroom
  • Care about margin as much as revenue and react quickly when performance needs attention
  • Work naturally in step with Category and marketing and understand how brand and commercial activity feed each other
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, keeping the people around you informed and aligned
  • Are commercially sharp and margin-aware, focused on profitable growth rather than volume for its own sake
  • Have managed or are ready to manage people, and take that responsibility seriously
  • Are energised by a role that is still being shaped, and want to be the person who shapes it
  • Thrive with genuine ownership and accountability
  • Want to be part of a founder-led business at a genuinely exciting moment

How we work

Small, ambitious team. High trust, lots of autonomy. Founder-led, with a genuine belief in what we make and why it matters. We care deeply about quality, relationships and doing things properly. We work hard, we back each other, and we have a lot of fun doing it.

The offer

  • £70k depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Full time, remote and flexible.
  • Equity participation through our EMI share option scheme and a genuine stake in what we are building together
  • The chance to shape the commercial future of a British food brand at the moment it scales
  • Pasta whenever you like!

The Pasta Principles

  • We Make it Joyful

Food is our common ground. We bring warmth, energy and a sense of joy to the way we work.

  • We Dream Big

We’re ambitious about what this can become, and energised by the challenge of building it.

  • We Graft

We roll our sleeves up, muck in and take pride in getting things done well.

  • We Back Ourselves

We trust our instincts, speak up and have a go. The best ideas can come from anywhere.

  • We Find A Way

When something doesn’t work, we don’t give up - we help each other find a way through.

We are Northern Pasta Co.

It all started with two of us, Matt, my husband and I, Imogen, on a farmers’ market stall in Cumbria, making pasta we were completely in love with.

What began so small has grown into our own factory and a wonderful team of people who love pasta as much as we do.

We care about British farming, making things properly and being proud of what we put out into the world.

We’re lean by nature, creative in how we think, and not afraid to try new things. We work closely together and believe that joy really matters, in the food we make and in how it feels to be part of the team.
